CORRUGATED ROOF

Corrugated roof is universally known as corrugated galvanized iron; slang names include wriggly tin, pailing and corrugated. It is a roll formed roof made from hot-dip galvanized cold rolled mild steel. Invented in the 1820's by an Englishman, its manufacturing process remained mechanically similar. This is easy to transport and simple to install, making it the best choice for temporary or rural housing. In the 1840's it was widely used in the development of new lands such as Australia, and is still helping developing countries today. For roofing purposes, its sheets are laid beside each other like tiles, but unlike tiles one could cover 10 times the area. This material could be reused as low cost fences even after 10 years, and is also 100% recyclable.

CORRUGATED ROOF SPECIFICATIONS

Roof length will depend on your request, while width is shown in the illustration below. Total width is 1083 mm or 42 5/8 inches, but its effective width upon installation for 1 lap (2 lap) is 1007 (930) mm 41 11/32 (36 5/8) inches.

WHY CORRUGATED ROOF?

Durability - Corrugated roof could be stepped on, even at a surface with no support underneath. Opposite of Ribbed types where you can only step at the ribs. Thus, repairs and cleaning is easier. Even after 20 years, you may still use its replacement scrap as temporary shelter or fencing.

Ease of Installation - A corrugated roof's purlin supports need not be perfectly aligned. As long as it can keep the roof flat and support its weight, your purlin support is enough. This is ideal for temporary shelters where the roof is constantly used and moved.

Replacement availability - If your corrugated roof is damaged and in need of patching up, you can easily find replacements. Corrugated sheets can be bought in standard sizes on almost all construction supply shops.
